Playful: Fun Projects to Make With + For Kids

Hello! It’s been nearly two years since my last post, and I wanted to pick back up to share extras from my photo shoots. My intention in blogging is only to have a space to post behind-the-scenes and additional images from shoots, with the occasional craft or recipe posted. I will not be a daily blogger, because my focus remains with my classes and shooting career.

In September, Playful: Fun Projects to Make With + For Kids by Merrilee Liddiard was released! This was such an amazing project to photograph and I was thrilled to be part of it. Published by STC Craft: A Melanie Falick Book, an imprint of Abrams Books, Playful was photographed by me, authored by Merrilee Liddiard, Styled by Meta Coleman & Brittany Watson Jepsen, Hair & Makeup by Aubrey Nelson and Kamra Christensen and assisting by Cassidy Tuttle.

Thanks for coming back!

Light & Fresh Desserts

Excited to share with you my most recent food shoot featuring light and fresh desserts. Dana Bonagura rocked it with her beautiful food styling, creating a Plum Almond Rustic Galette & Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble. Those plums were unreal. Brenda Barrett-Taylor’s prop styling added just the right amount of deep jewel tones and a rustic woodsy theme.

Check back tomorrow for the second half of our shoot, the Watercolor Popsicle and Ice Cream story.

Jane the Safari Queen

A year ago from the spring, Mallory and I collaborated on this Safari-inspired shoot with my sweet cousin Jane. We never posted it then, but excited to be reminded of this fun day. I love this girl and Mallory’s styling is so darling. Enjoy!

Us Weekly / Bacardi Shoot

In April, I had a great shoot for an Us Weekly/Bacardi advertorial featuring three parties with Busy Philipps. The parties will be featured individually throughout the summer in the magazine. Here is the first, featured in the June 11th Us Weekly issue:

So happy to work with…..
Carrie Purcell, Food Styling
Kate Martindale, Prop Styling
Hopefully I can show some behind-the-scenes because I’d love to share with you all the great details Carrie and Kate created.

Striped Wall: Patterns and Colors

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend, remembering our fallen heros.
Here’s the final striped wall shoot. It was fun to work with an old friend who modeled for us! Mallory styled again and we were lucky enough to use some clothes from Soel Boutique. I haven’t been into Soel for such a long time and found the cutest clothes and jewelry and some sweet little toys for Evie… each time we went I came back with awesome things… you have to visit!
This week, Evie and I are going back to Manhattan for two shoots, Natalie’s birthday, and to meet up with Adam who will be working out there too. Follow our adventures on Instagram (@nicolegerulat).
Happy Tuesday!
Also! Head over to the Nicole’s Classes blog where Melanie has shared her 10 Favorite Free Fonts! We’re sharing great things every work day!
