Special News!

Special news for our little family… a new baby at the end of July! Evie is so excited to see the baby in Mommy’s tummy.
New things to happen to this blog, which is why I rarely post. For more updates, follow me at NicoleGerulat on Instagram & Vine.

We had the most magical time taking Evie to Disneyland! The princesses were her favorite.

Evie Update

While Evie and I were in New York, she was invited to hang out on set at our Kiwi Magazine cover shoot. She loved playing on their chalkboard wall. And, she did surprisingly well the rest of the day…. and even took her nap in her stroller so I made a cove of black v-flats to help keep her asleep on set.
At home, I pulled out my camera when she was playing on our bed. I need to do this more often. The proverb of “The shoemaker’s children go barefoot.” is unfortunately a little too true for Evie. I rarely dig out my “good” camera for pictures of her, but I’m so glad I did. She’s growing up so fast. Changing so quickly… and that personality of hers can’t seem to get bigger.
She is 19 months. I can’t believe it.

Evie & Stella

When I ask Evie if she wants to see Nanny (Natalie), she just starts barking for Natalie’s dog, Stella. It was a happy reunion when she woke up from her nap to find herself smothered by Stella in Nat’s apartment. So basically, we made it here safely and are excited for lots of adventures this week!

Evie Update: The Zoo!

It has been too long since I’ve posted an Evie update. She’s almost 18 months old now! Her favorite words are Molly, Dada, Mama, hot, eee-you (see you), hi/hey, bye, uv-you (love you), uh-oh, uh-huh, ball, and more. Evie loves singing Ariel, Moves Like Jagger, Priscilla Ahn and the Backyardigans theme song (we keep it versatile over here.)On my most recent job in NY, I decided to take Evie with me and spend a few extra days with my sister. My sister lives in a studio and so our living arrangements were comical with a pack-n-play setup in the kitchen with a sheet dividing us so Evie could sleep. Evie was such a trooper and loved all the lights at Times Square, hanging out with “the girls” (her new Disney princess figures), and spending a day at the Central Park Zoo. Here she is on the zoo day. We had so much fun –thank you for letting us stay with you, Aunt Natalie!

Evie’s First Birthday!

Today is Evie’s First Birthday! I can’t believe it has been a year since I had that precious baby. Last night, we celebrated her birthday with our immediate family.
I didn’t go overboard in planning, but really wanted to make these lamb cupcakes from Martha Stewart Baby since lambs are Evie’s favorite. (I’ll show you her sweet invitation soon!)
Evie was so funny with her cake. She was more concerned with licking the frosting off her fingers than taking handfuls of cake. Watch the video at the end!
Oh, and true to Evie fashion, she mastered another milestone on her birthday. (She always does a new trick on the monthiversary.) This time, she stood on her own for 10 seconds!
Happy Birthday, sweet baby! We love you.

Evie’s rocking chair from Mommy & Daddy.
Inside her cake was lemon buttercream and lemon curd. Other cupcakes were vanilla and dark chocolate.

We didn’t even have to take it away from her. When she was finished, she pushed it off the high chair.

The question was, who had more fun? The aunts, Mommy, Yaya or Evie?
After all the amazing presents from family, Evie played most with her balloons. :)

So sorry I’ve been lacking in the posting area. I’ve been traveling so much and spending every free minute with family. But, I have some fun jobs that I’ve done recently and will be posting them next week. In the meantime, here are some shots from our recent pumpkin patch date with Evie. Have a wonderful weekend and a huge thank you to all our brave soldiers who keep us free.
